We have a strong commitment to social justice and environmental issues providing efficient, affordable and ethical services to our clients.
Our office is located on the second floor of the historic T&G building on the corner of Collins and Murray Streets in Hobart. Take the lift up to the 2nd floor and come in and chat with us about how we can help you.

DIVORCE LAW

Our approach is non-confrontational and collaborative where possible. We aim to help our clients to reach amicable agreements and settlements with minimum fuss.

Our family law team is headed by Oona Fisher.

We can assist with all aspects of family law matters including financial/property settlements, children’s matters, child support agreements and applications for family violence orders.

SOCIAL JUSTICE AND THE ENVIRONMENT

We take pride in representing individuals and organisations who are working to protect the environment, fighting against laws that are unjust and working to improve the quality of life for people in our community.

We frequently take on matters that we consider to be of importance to the community at a reduced fee or on a no win, no fee basis. Our solicitors regularly volunteer their time to community and not-for-profit organisations.

BUYING OR SELLING PROPERTY?

We provide conveyancing services to assist with your purchase or sale of property providing advice about your contracts before you sign. We can also help you transfer of property pursuant to a family law agreement or as part of an estate matter.

Our staff aim to take the stress out of buying and selling property by keeping you fully informed at each step of the conveyancing process. We offer an efficient, courteous, no fuss conveyancing service at competitive rates.

WILLS & ESTATE PLANNING

Make sure your loved ones are provided for. Have your Will prepared by our legal expert.

We will take you through the process of preparing your Will in a straightforward way, producing a document that is written in plain English, easy to understand and which fully represents your wishes.

We can also prepare, if required, associated documents such as a Power of Attorney, Enduring Guardianship and Testamentary Trust, protecting you and your assets and your family.

Our Lawyers

Roland Browne

Roland Browne

Partner

Roland works in the civil and criminal areas, including administrative review, anti-discrimination, environment and planning and federal workers compensation.

In the criminal area he once had a busy practice defending forest protesters and other civilly disobedient people. That area of practice went quiet after the forest agreement was reached in 2013. That may well all change as the State Liberal Government is doing its best to open up contentious forest areas and to introduce a new range of offences to curtail the activities of forest protestors.

Roland is also the vice chair of Gun Control Australia.

Oona Fisher

Oona Fisher

Partner

Oona works predominantly in the area of Family Law, including property, parenting, and divorce. Oona appreciates that separation can be an incredibly stressful time, especially where children and family violence are involved. She aims to assist her clients with clear and timely advice towards resolving their matters with as little additional stress as possible.

Oona also represents clients in criminal matters, and in relation to Family Violence and Restraint Orders.

Oona understands that clients’ legal issues can be as varied as their families and relationships, and that sometimes it is necessary to think outside the box to achieve a suitable resolution. Oona regularly appears in the Family Court, Federal Circuit Court and Magistrates Court and can provide advocacy and guidance through these often-daunting processes.
